• We’re looking for people who are intrinsically motivated. The best Fellows are those that have hobbies, passions and/or deep interests in particular problems.

• We’re aiming to bring in Fellows who are passionate problem-solvers and motivated individuals.

  • “Hmm, this answer is a bit unoriginal. I don't really understand what makes this person tick, what they love doing, what problems they love solving."
  • Doesn’t clearly explain their personal or professional goals, or link them to the Fellowship.
  • Lacks hunger or motivation to join the program.

  • “Wow, this person is super curious about X - their passion / motivation leaps off the page!”
  • Describes in detail any hobbies, pursuits or passions they have.
  • Show that they care deeply or are intensely interested about particular issues, areas, topics, industries, problems, pursuits.

What do you believe you can achieve through the Fellowship personally or professionally that you can't anywhere else in the world?

✅ Testing: Hunger and motivation to join the Fellowship.

  • “Meh, I don’t really see the drive or ambition to become a Fellow. I’d pass them up based on this response.”
  • Doesn’t clearly explain their personal or professional goals, or link them to the Fellowship.
  • Lacks hunger or motivation to join the program.

• “Yes” or “Hell Yes”

  • “Please give this person a spot! Their ambition and hunger is infectious and they clearly know what they want to achieve from the program.”
  • Has done their homework on the Fellowship.
  • Can clearly explain what their goals are and how the Fellowship will help them achieve those goals. The goals are ambitious and compelling!

  • “I’m not convinced this person actually wants to work for a startup..OR, they haven’t really thought about it very much..”

  • “I can see this person genuinely cares about and wants a job in a startup. They’re curious, ambitious and ready to hit the ground running!”
  • They’re able to connect their passions and life goals to working in a startup.
  • Bonus points if they’ve done their homework about particular companies and industries.
